Lewiston, Idaho – Jo Anne Galvan Allbright, a cherished family member and dedicated organ donor, passed away on May 6, 2025, at the age of 74. Her commitment to family and her giving spirit defined her life, touching the hearts of many before her passing. Born on September 1, 1950, in San Bernardino, California, Allbright lived a life filled with both challenges and triumphs.

Allbright graduated from Coronado High School in Coronado, California, in 1968 and was an active participant in the school’s marching bands, playing the clarinet. Under the guidance of band director Bob Demmon, she developed a lasting love for music. Notably, her siblings and three of her oldest children also graduated from the same institution, creating a family legacy tied to the school.

After completing high school, Allbright pursued higher education at UCSD in La Jolla, San Diego, majoring in Biology. She later attended university in Walla Walla, Washington, where she earned an associate degree in Business. Throughout her life, she resided in various locations, including Kentucky, back to Coronado, La Jolla, and ultimately settling in Idaho.

In her professional life, Allbright made a significant impact working as a caregiver and administrator in the caregiving industry. Her dedication to helping others reflected her deep compassion and commitment to service.

Allbright was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Jennie Galvan, and her younger brother, Steven Galvan. As the oldest of six children, she is survived by her siblings Joseph Galvan from Healdsburg, CA; Sandra Goulart; Sylvia Rust; and James Galvan from San Diego, CA, as well as her husband Darrin Allbright and two sisters-in-law. Jo Anne was a proud mother of four children: Denise Adams of Warren, VT; Roberto West of La Mesa, CA; Nick West of Nampa, ID; and Marty Christensen of Spokane, WA. Additionally, she is survived by thirteen grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and friends who cherished her deeply.

Jo Anne Galvan Allbright was known for her generous nature and zest for life. Her love for dancing, music, and gatherings with family and friends brought joy to those around her. In her final act of kindness, she chose to be an organ donor, ensuring her legacy of giving would continue even after her passing.

A Funeral Mass honoring Allbright’s life was held on Friday, September 5, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, located at 655 C Avenue in Coronado, California. A reception followed at the Veterans of Foreign Wars on 557 Orange Ave #59 in Coronado, where attendees enjoyed catering from Clayton’s, remembering and celebrating the meaningful life she led.

Jo Anne Galvan Allbright’s life is remembered not just for her accomplishments and love for her family but also for the impact she made in the lives of those around her. Through her spirit of generosity and care, she will continue to inspire many.
