The initiative also emphasizes collaboration with local organizations to enhance workforce development and educational accessibility.

Coronado, California — Six higher education institutions have been awarded $25,000 each as part of the Digital Workforce Innovation Program organized by Infosys Foundation USA. The announcement was made during the annual National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE) conference held in October 2025. This initiative aims to equip students and adult learners with essential digital skills tailored to meet local and regional labor market needs.

A total grant of $250,000 was allocated to NACCE to support this innovative program over the next 18 months. The selected recipients of the grants include:

  • Coppin State University (MD)
  • Foothill College (CA)
  • Gateway Community College (AZ)
  • Houston City College (TX)
  • Ivy Tech Community College (IN)
  • North Iowa Area Community College (IA)

Each of these colleges will receive funding, technical assistance, coaching, mentorship, and access to the Infosys Springboard digital learning platform, which offers an extensive repository of over 11,000 interactive learning modules covering emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, data analytics, and cybersecurity.

Key partners in this initiative include Maker USA, which will provide technical assistance and link the participating institutions to a national network of over 40 organizations focused on inclusive maker education. This collaboration aims to scale digital workforce initiatives within each partner college.

The selection process for grant recipients prioritized several criteria, including college readiness, program enhancement potential, sustainability plans, community responsiveness, and the establishment of clear measurable goals. The NACCE President and CEO emphasized the significance of stakeholder collaboration in addressing workforce needs and enhancing educational programs.

Moreover, a critical component of the program is SkillPointe, an online career exploration tool created by NACCE, which connects individuals with relevant training and certification programs in skilled trades. This aspect of the program further supports the overarching goal of preparing talent for a technology-driven workforce and promoting inclusive access to pertinent learning paths.

Infosys Foundation USA’s Executive Director underscored the necessity of developing talent aligned with modern workforce demands, reinforcing the commitment to provide accessible and relevant educational opportunities. By focusing on digital skills development, this initiative aims to effectively respond to evolving labor market requirements, ensuring participants are prepared for future career challenges.

The Digital Workforce Innovation Program not only focuses on equipping students with technical skills but also integrates a broader vision of community engagement and responsiveness to industry needs, strengthening the educational landscape across various regions of the United States. The initiative represents a significant step forward in bridging the skills gap and facilitating pathways to employment in an increasingly digital economy.
