San Diego, CA – San Diego State University (SDSU) is set to host its highly anticipated annual Fan Fest on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Snapdragon Stadium. This free event aims to kick off the football season with excitement and community engagement, featuring various activities for fans of all ages.

Admission to the Fan Fest is free, but fans are required to claim tickets in advance via Ticketmaster, with a limit of four tickets per person. For those planning to drive to the event, parking is available for $10, which can also be purchased through the Ticketmaster link. The parking lot will open at 5 p.m. PT, while the stadium gates are set to open at 6 p.m. PT. The festivities will officially begin at 7:05 p.m. PT, giving fans ample time to secure their spots and enjoy the pre-season activities. During the event, the team store will be open, along with select concession stands offering food and beverages.

SDSU is gearing up to kick off its 2025 football season on August 28 against Stony Brook at Snapdragon Stadium. The specific time for the season opener has yet to be confirmed. Following the opener, the Aztecs will host several home games, including matchups against California on September 20, Colorado State on October 3, Wyoming on November 1, Boise State on November 15, and San Jose State on November 22, with the time for the latter still to be announced.

For fans looking to participate in the entire season’s excitement, season tickets are available for the 2025 football season starting at $200. This includes a $25 Aztec Club Membership, which averages about $33.33 per game. Benefits for season ticket holders include interest-free payment plans, pre-sale access to special events, discounts on merchandise, and reduced parking costs. For the first time, fans also have the option to create a three-game mini-plan online, which can be converted into a full season ticket membership. Single-game tickets are set to go on sale at a price starting from $23, which includes all associated fees.

As the Aztecs prepare for the upcoming season, it’s worth noting that last year, they finished with a 3-9 record, tying for last place in the Mountain West Conference alongside Wyoming. This disheartening conclusion resulted from a declining performance over the season, as they ended last year with a six-game losing streak after beginning the season with promise. Despite these challenges, the rivalry with Wyoming remains strong, dating back to their time in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). This season will mark the final matchup between the two teams before SDSU transitions to the Pac-12 conference.

In the broader context, SDSU faces ongoing challenges and changes within college football, marked by litigation regarding eligibility issues affecting athletes. These developments impact not only SDSU but also other college programs across the nation, highlighting the evolving landscape of college athletics.

As anticipation builds for Fan Fest and the upcoming season, the SDSU community looks forward to celebrating their football program and supporting their team as they work towards a successful 2025 season.
