Participants can enjoy a Lego® Yellow Travel Suitcase building workshop and a culinary workshop focusing on authentic Mexican dishes. The John D. Spreckels Center for Adults in Coronado is set to host two engaging creative workshops this August, catering to residents and visitors looking to explore their artistic skills. The workshops include a hands-on session focused on building a Lego® Yellow Travel Suitcase and a culinary workshop centered around authentic Mexican dishes. These events offer enriching experiences for individuals of all skill levels and ages.
The first workshop, focused on building a Lego® Yellow Travel Suitcase, will take place on Saturday, August 30, from 10:30 am to noon. Participants will engage in a relaxed and instructor-led session, allowing for both creativity and social interaction. Attendees will receive a 184-piece Lego® set, valued at $15, to take home. The cost for participation ranges from $25 to $37, dependent on residency status and eligibility for senior discounts. No prior Lego experience is required, making this workshop accessible to everyone interested in unleashing their creativity.

On Friday, August 8, from 2 to 3:30 pm, the center will offer a culinary workshop featuring iconic Mexican dishes. Led by culinary-trained staff, Naomi and Norma, participants will learn to prepare and sample a selection of delightful dishes, including Ahi Tuna Tostadas, Fish Ceviche Tostadas, and Tacos Gobernador. This workshop aims to enhance cooking skills in a lively and social atmosphere.
The cost for the culinary workshop ranges from $60 to $90, based on residency and senior discounts, with early registration recommended. Participants must sign up at least 48 hours in advance to secure their spots. Registration is available through the same options as the Lego workshop.
