The gathering showcased a celebratory spirit with awards and performances highlighting the district’s dedication to academic and extracurricular excellence.

The meeting kicked off with a performance by the Coronado High School (CHS) band, who entertained attendees with musical selections from Les Misérables and various Disney Pixar films, under the direction of Matt Heinecke. This engaging introduction set a lively tone for the proceedings, which focused on honoring impressive accomplishments within the school community.

The board honored the CHS Girls Lacrosse Team, who achieved a remarkable feat by winning the CIF championship. Their undefeated season of 19 wins and a national ranking of 25th highlighted their hard work and determination. Principal Karin Mellina and head coach Carolyn Dineen expressed pride in the players’ dedication throughout the season.
