In a bid to counterbalance the store closures, Walmart is also set to open a new Supercenter in Eastvale, Riverside County. This new location is part of a broader national initiative to open 150 new stores across the United States within the next five years.

Currently, Walmart operates 303 retail locations and 21 supply chain facilities in California, employing over 104,500 associates within the state. The company maintains a significant presence across the U.S., with a total of 4,605 retail and 600 Sam’s Club locations, providing jobs to approximately 1.6 million associates nationwide. As Walmart evolves its business strategy, it appears committed to adapting to changing market dynamics while investing in better service for its customers.
