Coronado – The 4th Annual Coronado Art & Wine Festival took place on Saturday, May 10, attracting a record number of participants and community engagement. The event was co-hosted by the Coronado Schools Foundation and The Chamber of Commerce, and it celebrated the talents of local artists while supporting the community.

This year’s festival showcased 120 artists and vendors, marking a 50% increase from the 80 participants in the previous year. The festival’s location at the intersection of 10th Street and C Avenue created a vibrant street festival atmosphere, embracing various forms of artistic expression such as recycled surfboard art, woodworking, pottery, photography, and jewelry.

Local vendors not only displayed their creativity but also contributed to fundraising efforts for community organizations. Funds raised during the festival benefited groups such as the Coronado High School (CHS) football team and the CHS junior class, highlighting the festival’s commitment to supporting local initiatives.

The event featured several distinctive areas, including the VIP Wine Area and Bubbles Lounge, which were sold out prior to the festival. The Wine Village reached maximum capacity, illustrating the popularity of the offerings, which included on-tap wine, champagne, and beer provided by the Tap Truck. Attendees enjoyed bites and drinks from local restaurants in the Bubbles Lounge, enhancing the overall experience.

Community participation extended beyond just attendance, as local businesses such as the Coronado Yoga and Wellness Center also participated as vendors, showcasing their contributions to the event. The festival aimed to foster a sense of community spirit by engaging various local stakeholders, and this was reflected in the large crowds that gathered under sunny weather, dressed in bright floral colors that echoed the festival’s lively atmosphere.

A family-friendly environment was a focal point of the festival, exemplified by the Artopia area designed specifically for children. This area featured art displays from every student at Village and Silver Strand Elementary Schools, providing young artists with the chance to showcase their work. The presence of interactive exhibits and activities ensured that visitors of all ages could engage with the arts.

Organizers emphasized the importance of collaboration between different teams, aiming to support local arts, schools, and businesses. The event not only showcased the talent of local artists but also aimed to highlight the importance of STEM and Arts education in public schools. The Coronado Schools Foundation president and the Chamber executive director expressed satisfaction with the festival’s success, which underscored the positive impact such events can have on the community.

In addition to the art and wine offerings, the festival featured aesthetic decorations that included oversized colorful flowers and a giant colorful elephant, further enhancing the visual appeal of the event and contributing to its festive atmosphere. This year’s festival not only celebrated local artistry but also brought the community together, creating memorable experiences while supporting a good cause.

Overall, the 4th Annual Coronado Art & Wine Festival succeeded in garnering substantial attention and participation, marking a significant milestone in its history and promising to continue fostering local talent, community pride, and support for educational initiatives in the future.
