Two standout performers from the show have also received individual accolades. Bruno Dominguez, who played the emcee, has been named one of the Top 10 Best Actors, while Katie Moreno, who starred as Sally Bowles, has earned a spot as one of the Top 10 Best Actresses. Their performances have significantly contributed to the overall success of Cabaret and have been instrumental in its recognition at the event.

The full cast of Cabaret is set to perform at the prestigious Balboa Theatre on May 25 at 6 p.m. During this event, they will compete for top honors among multiple contenders. Winners of the Best Actor and Best Actress categories at this competition will have the opportunity to advance to the esteemed “Jimmy” awards in New York City, scheduled for June 23 at the Minskoff Theatre on Broadway.

Barbara Wolf, the Director of CoSA’s Musical Theatre and Drama Conservatory, praised the exceptional work of choreographers Gina Sorensen and Lauren Pym, reflecting the collaborative effort that went into creating a memorable and engaging production.

Both Moreno and Dominguez expressed their elation and gratitude for their respective roles. Moreno described playing Sally Bowles as a dream come true and the chance to represent CoSA as one of the Top 20 finalists. Due to its references to antisemitism and sensitive topics such as abortion, the musical is recommended for viewers ages 13 and up, ensuring that audiences are prepared for its more serious content.
