This event supports the Coronado Historical Association and features an online art auction to fund local heritage education. Tickets available through the CHA website.

Coronado is set to celebrate Mother’s Day with the 2025 Coronado Historic Home Tour on Sunday, May 11, 2025. This annual event, which highlights the beauty and history of the island, will feature six exquisite historic homes, offering attendees a unique opportunity to explore these meticulously restored residences.

The Home Tour is part of Coronado’s Preservation Month and serves as a significant fundraiser for the Coronado Historical Association (CHA). Through this initiative, the CHA aims to engage and educate the community about Coronado’s rich history while preserving its architectural heritage.

In conjunction with the Home Tour, an online art auction is currently underway, featuring a variety of artwork that supports the CHA’s mission. The auction includes:

  • Hand-painted porcelain pitcher by Mary Hale
  • Watercolors by Robert Gerdes, Connie Spitzer, and Jody Esquer
  • Acrylic giclee prints by Tina Christiansen
  • Original paintings by Louise Nutter
  • Mixed-media art by Jean Pierre Marques

Bidding for the auction is open now and will close at 5 p.m. PST on May 11, 2025, the same day as the Home Tour. The artwork featured in the auction will be displayed within the historic homes included in the tour, providing a harmonious experience where history meets creativity.

Winners of the auction will be able to pick up their pieces at the CHA starting on Tuesday, May 14, 2025. All proceeds raised from the auction will benefit the Coronado Historical Association and contribute to its educational programs aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of Coronado’s unique island history.

Tickets for the Home Tour are available for purchase online through the CHA’s website. Attendees must collect a commemorative tour booklet on the event day from Will-Call in order to access the homes on the tour. It’s important to note that attendees will need to adhere to certain guidelines during the event—photography, video recording, and high-heeled shoes are not permitted. Additionally, children must be at least 10 years old to participate in the tour, and no strollers will be allowed. Only registered service animals are permitted on the tour as well.

The Coronado Historical Association has an ongoing commitment to preserving the community’s historical assets and educating the public about its heritage. This event not only underscores the beauty of Coronado’s architecture but also serves as a platform for the CHA to connect with the community through art and history during this special occasion celebrating mothers.
