Coronado Rides Into May with Exciting Events for Safety and Awareness!

This May, the charming city of Coronado is rolling out some fantastic events aimed at promoting bike safety and public awareness. Get ready to dust off those helmets and hop on your favorite wheels as the city co-hosts three engaging bicycle safety clinics, affectionately dubbed Bike Rodeos. These clinics won’t just cover the essentials of riding; they’ll also shine a spotlight on the growing trend of e-bike safety. So, whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or just starting out, these rodeos promise to be educational and fun!

Join the Ride!

Students and their parents are wholeheartedly encouraged to partake in the Bike Rodeos. Why? Because it’s a golden opportunity to learn all about the rules of the road, ensure your bicycles are registered, and even get a chance to participate in some exciting raffle contests! Plus, it doesn’t matter what kind of wheels you have—all bikes, e-bikes, scooters, and skateboards are more than welcome. It’s truly an inclusive event for all.

The Bike Rodeos are organized in collaboration with the Coronado Unified School District and the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition, demonstrating a great community effort to promote safe riding practices.

Bike Anywhere Day – Join the Fun on May 15!

In addition to the Bike Rodeos, mark your calendars for May 15th, because that’s when Bike Anywhere Day rolls around! Running from 6:30 to 9:30 AM, this event encourages everyone in the San Diego region to consider biking as a sustainable and healthy transportation option. It’s a fabulous day to get out, breathe in the fresh air, and enjoy the cycling routes!

There’s great news for everyone participating! You can swing by one of the over 100 pit stops scattered across the region to pick up a free commemorative t-shirt—while supplies last, of course! Last year, an impressive tally of over 9,000 visits was recorded at the pit stops, showcasing how popular the event has become. Participants who register in advance will also have a chance to enter a fabulous sweepstakes. One lucky winner will take home one of three e-bikes powered by Rad Power Bikes!

Discover New Bikeways!

The SANDAG has released an exciting Bike Anywhere Day 2025 Pit Stop Map, featuring more than 100 locations, including stops along the newly completed bikeways. It’s a perfect way to explore Coronado and the surrounding areas while enjoying your ride.
