Welcome to Coronado: A New Chapter for Safe Harbor

In the charming city of Coronado, there’s exciting news in the air as Safe Harbor Coronado welcomes a brand-new face to its leadership team. Mark Frahm has just been appointed as the new Development Director at the organization, which is dedicated to providing essential mental health services and support to the community.

Meet Mark Frahm

Mark’s journey began in Chicago, where he was born, but he grew up in the picturesque state of Connecticut. His career took off at Fidelity Investments in Boston, where he gained valuable experience in the corporate sector. After earning his MBA from Washington University in St. Louis, his passion for the Internet led him down a path filled with startups, focusing on areas such as sales, marketing, and data analytics. He even spent an impressive 12 years at TripAdvisor, where he played a key role in driving strategic growth and innovation.

A Change of Heart

However, Mark’s story took a significant turn when he decided to start his own venture: a leather bag company. While that chapter ended in 2024, it sparked a newfound motivation within him to give back to the community. His own family had benefited from the services of Safe Harbor Coronado, stirring a strong desire to contribute. As a dad of two, who has seen firsthand how beneficial Safe Harbor’s school initiatives and programs can be, he already has a connection to the organization.

Mark’s Community Involvement

Before taking the helm as Development Director, Mark dedicated his time to volunteering with Safe Harbor’s Drug Prevention Program and participated in their Love & Logic course. His commitment to the community is palpable and will only strengthen as he steps into his new leadership role.

His Vision for Safe Harbor

With Mark at the forefront, Safe Harbor Coronado is set to enhance its mission of delivering comprehensive mental health services to all community members, regardless of their financial means. Mark will be responsible for leading the fundraising strategies necessary to sustain these valuable programs while also fostering strong community partnerships.

A Flourishing Hub of Wellness

Safe Harbor Coronado has made a tremendous impact on the local community, connecting with over 20,000 individuals each year. In just the 2022/23 period alone, they successfully reached out to more than 2,500 youth and assisted 300 community members through counseling services. With a clear mission to offer social, behavioral, emotional, and mental health programs, Safe Harbor aims to empower not only the youth but also their families in Coronado.

Exciting Initiatives on the Horizon

This year, Safe Harbor hosted its very first annual May Mental Health & Wellness Fair, attracting hundreds and offering a variety of activities from health screenings to mindfulness exercises. The event highlighted the organization’s commitment to promoting wellness and awareness throughout the community.

Fostering Acceptance and Support

Additionally, Safe Harbor has taken steps to address the needs of marginalized groups, showcasing their dedication through collaborations like their recent partnership with Better Buzz Coffee, offering free drinks for a Pride Month event. With statistics revealing that LGBTQ youth face significantly higher risks, it’s clear that community support initiatives are more important than ever.

Get Involved!

As Mark embarks on this exciting new role, Safe Harbor Coronado is actively seeking volunteers, donations, and support from the community. Anyone who is eager to contribute to this meaningful cause is encouraged to visit the Safe Harbor website to learn more about how they can get involved.

A Bright Future Ahead

With Mark Frahm leading Safe Harbor into the future, there’s no doubt that the organization will continue to flourish, providing a stigma-free environment where individuals can build resilience and emotional well-being. Coronado residents can look forward to even more impactful initiatives and support from a truly dedicated team.
