On March 11 at 6:30 p.m., residents of Coronado are invited to gather at the Library’s Winn Room for an inspiring evening organized by the Coronado Soroptimist Club. This engaging event aims to celebrate and support two determined members of Girl Scout Troop 6136 who are stepping up to pursue their prestigious Gold Award projects.

What is the Gold Award?

The Gold Award is not just any achievement; it’s the highest honor that a Girl Scout can attain, akin to the Eagle Scout rank in Boy Scouting. It requires young women to demonstrate remarkable leadership, tackle important national or global issues, and create a tangible, sustainable impact in their communities. First up is Kate Bennett, who will dive into the necessity of adding Naloxone to first aid kits in order to prepare for potential opioid overdoses. As part of her commitment, she will provide attendees with Naloxone supplies, but only for those who RSVP.

Following Kate will be Grace Dabbieri, a remarkable individual who has been blind since birth. Grace will showcase the incredible accomplishments of blind individuals and will emphasize the vital importance of accessibility.
